After founding Assistance for Blind Children (ABC) on 2nd April 1978, numerous philanthropic organizations, embassies of different countries located in Bangladesh, and dedicated people have assisted in various ways in running ABC. ABC honored some individuals and philanthropic organizations at different times through the “Irwin Award”. This is the first time ABC has taken the initiative to honor 6 dedicated members of ABC. This event was held on 19th February 2022 at ABC Head Office (67/A, Indira Road, West Rajabazar, Dhaka-1215 on the occasion of the 44th Annual General Meeting of ABC. Mrs. Anjuman Aziz Khan, Life Member of ABC is one of them.
Vice President of ABC Mr. Md. Rubayet Hossain has conducted the award ceremony event and Mrs. Safina Rahman, Executive Member of ABC, presented the brief biography of Mrs. Anjuman Aziz Khan.
Mrs. Anjuman Aziz Khan is one of the Directors of Summit Group and she is the wife of Mr. Aziz Khan, Chairman of Summit Group. Summit Group is a leading business organization in the country, providing financial support to various social and humanitarian organizations in the country. Mrs. Anjuman Aziz Khan joined ABC on 13th December 1995 as a Life Member. Though she is less involved with ABC's day-to-day operations, since joining, she has been providing regular financial support to ABC. Summit Group has donated 1 microbus to ABC. To date, she has been providing regular financial support to the ABC Sponsored Hostels for visually impaired children’s food and educational expenses. ABC is honoring her for her generous contribution. In absence of Mrs. Anjuman Aziz Khan as she was out of the country, Mr. Latif Khan, Vice Chairman of Summit Group, received a trophy from Mrs. Munira Khan, President of ABC, on behalf of Mrs. Anjuman Aziz Khan as a token of love. Mr. Latif Khan handed over Tk. 2.0 lakh as a donation for Educational and food expenses for ABC-sponsored Hostels. ABC gratefully acknowledged this support.
